Therapeutic Riding Organization Hosts Annual Fundraiser Amid Rising Costs

Tucson, AZ, October 8, 2026 — Therapeutic Riding of Tucson (TROT) is set to host its annual “Hearts and Horses” fundraising event. The organization, which provides horseback riding services for individuals with disabilities, will hold the event at Hacienda del Sol in Tucson.

The primary objective of the “Hearts and Horses” fundraiser is to generate essential funds needed to address the escalating costs involved in maintaining the care of TROT’s horses and to sustain the services offered to its riders. These increased expenses are attributed to a rise in fuel prices and general operational costs.

TROT offers therapeutic horseback riding, an activity designed to benefit individuals with a wide range of physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities. The program aims to improve balance, coordination, strength, and confidence in participants through interaction with horses and the equestrian environment.

Information regarding the specific date and time of the “Hearts and Horses” fundraiser, as well as ticket details or donation opportunities, was not provided in the summary. Similarly, the exact amount TROT aims to raise or the specific operational expenses that have increased were not detailed. The contractor’s name, if applicable, was not mentioned.

The organization’s reliance on community support through events like “Hearts and Horses” highlights the ongoing need for resources to continue its mission. The rising costs of equine care, including feed, veterinary services, and stable maintenance, coupled with increasing transportation expenses due to fuel prices, place a significant financial burden on non-profit therapeutic riding centers.
