New inflatable fishing platform combines integrated electric propulsion, GPS positioning, navigation functions and multiple control options for anglers.
MIAMI, FL / ACCESS Newswire / August 18, 2026 / Ventral today announced the launch of its Kickstarter campaign for the Ventral Electric Fishing Board with Smart Mid-Mount Drive, a portable inflatable fishing platform that combines electric propulsion, GPS positioning, navigation functions and multiple control options in an integrated system.
Built around a wide inflatable fishing board, Ventral integrates a purpose-built electric drive into the center of the platform rather than relying on a conventional paddle or separately mounted rear motor. The system is designed to provide anglers with propulsion, positioning and control while maintaining a portable and modular fishing platform.

Integrated GPS Positioning and Navigation
The Ventral Smart Mid-Mount Drive combines electric propulsion with GPS-based positioning and navigation functions.
GPS Anchor Lock is designed to hold the board’s position within approximately ±1 meter through wind and current. The system also includes Course and Speed Hold, Track Recording, Bidirectional Track Following and Drift functions.
Anglers can record routes through the onboard system and later follow previously recorded routes. These navigation functions are designed to provide additional options for managing movement and positioning while fishing.
Multiple Control Options
Ventral provides three primary control options: a wireless remote, foot-control system and smart mobile app.
The wireless remote provides access to steering and other drive functions, while the foot-control system provides hands-free control for anglers who want to manage the board while keeping their attention on fishing.
The Ventral app provides additional system information and control capabilities.
Together, these control options are designed to give anglers flexibility in how they operate the fishing platform on the water.
Purpose-Built Electric Drive and Battery System
The Smart Mid-Mount Drive uses a 600W brushless motor with up to 50 pounds of thrust. The system uses a 36V, 1.15 kWh LiFePO₄ battery.
The battery is a separate removable module that connects to the propulsion system, allowing for installation, charging, replacement and transportation as part of the modular drive system.
The system is designed to provide up to six hours of runtime at efficient cruise power and up to two hours at full power. Actual runtime can vary depending on operating conditions, speed, payload, wind, waves, current and other factors.
The mid-mount drive is positioned directly in front of the angler and can be raised to provide access to the propeller when clearing weeds or debris.
Built for Fishing
The Ventral Fishing Board offers a stable inflatable platform for stand-up fishing.
The Ventral Fishing Board is designed as a stable platform for fishing, including stand-up fishing. The board has a maximum capacity of 650 pounds and uses a reinforced dual-layer construction with a drop-stitch core and polyester mesh reinforcement.
The platform includes storage and accessory mounting options for fishing equipment and is designed for both freshwater and saltwater use.
The complete Ventral system is designed to be portable and packable, with the board and Smart Mid-Mount Drive system fitting into separate carry bags for transportation and storage.
