2026 AMPP Ambassadors share global perspectives on standards, asset integrity, AI, workforce challenges and protective coatings.
HOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Infrastructure owners around the world face many of the same challenges: extending asset life, improving reliability, adopting new technologies and preparing the next generation of professionals. While those challenges may look different from one industry or region to another, the value of sharing practical experience remains constant.
That is the focus of a new four-part ambassador podcast series from the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), as part of the organization’s Fifth Anniversary “Then and Now” podcast series. The episodes feature members of the 2026 AMPP Ambassador Class discussing corrosion prevention, protective coatings, asset integrity, and trends influencing the future of the profession.
Hosted by Ben DuBose, AMPP News Editor, the series brings together ambassadors from industry, academia and consulting across several countries to share lessons learned, discuss emerging challenges and explore how collaboration helps move the profession forward.
“One of the greatest strengths of the AMPP community is the diversity of experience our members bring from around the world,” DuBose said. “Every guest brings a different perspective based on where they work and the challenges they face. Those conversations help all of us better understand what’s working, where the profession is headed and how we can continue learning from one another.”
Each episode examines a different aspect of the profession:
• Episode 1 – From Field to Framework: How Corrosion Knowledge Becomes Global Standards
Washington Nyoni, Corrosion Control Engineering (Australia); George Joseph, Saudi Aramco; and Dr. Raghu Srinivasan, University of Alaska Anchorage (United States), discuss how decades of research, field experience and international collaboration have evolved into the standards guiding the industry.
• Episode 2 – Asset Integrity Under Pressure: Pipelines, Risk, and Real-World Decision Making
Carlos Roberto Córdova, MM Contratistas (Peru); Syed Wajahat Hussain, ATCO Gas (Australia); and Juan Pablo Bohórquez Rico, Penspen (Mexico), examine pipeline integrity, corrosion mitigation, cathodic protection, inspection and asset management through the experiences of professionals working across global energy infrastructure.
• Episode 3 – The Future of Corrosion Engineering: Data, AI, and the Workforce Challenge
Craig Botha, Re:Ignite (South Africa); Paola Andrea Postigo Rojas, NaTran (France); and Harsh Zala, AsInt, Inc. (India), explore how artificial intelligence, digital technologies, advanced analytics and workforce development are transforming corrosion engineering.
• Episode 4 – Coatings That Last (and Fail): What the Field Keeps Teaching Us
Brian Cheshire, Henkel (United States), and Mani Karuppiah, PPG (United Arab Emirates), share practical lessons on coating performance, failure analysis, inspections, and field experience. All of these continue to drive improvements in long-term asset protection.
The series began with Episode 1 on Aug. 17, followed by:
• Episode 2: Thursday, Aug. 20
• Episode 3: Tuesday, Aug. 25
• Episode 4: Tuesday, Sept. 1
As part of AMPP’s Fifth Anniversary celebration, the ambassador podcast series extends the organization’s “Then and Now” podcast series by looking beyond the first five years of AMPP to the people, ideas, and innovations that are helping shape the profession’s future.
Listeners will gain practical insights from internationally recognized professionals while exploring how collaboration, standards, innovation, and shared experiences continue to strengthen materials protection worldwide.
