During George’s appendectomy, doctors discovered pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP), a rare cancer affecting approximately one in a million people. His treatment ultimately required an extreme, high-risk procedure sometimes referred to as the “Mother of All Surgeries.” The operation lasted 18 hours and required the removal of several major organs, followed by an intensive chemotherapy treatment.

For George, the months ahead meant enduring the physical realities of treatment and recovery. For Judi, they brought the fear of losing her husband and facing the possibility of raising their four children alone.

Through both perspectives, No Guts, His Glory explores not only the medical crisis the family faced, but the Christian faith that George and Judi say sustained them through fear, pain, uncertainty, and recovery.
